My Class Trip

My class went on a cool class trip to Binder Park Zoo.

2nd Grade, Here I Come!

At first it was kind of weird that I had to get up so early. But, I'll get used to it. I was really happy on my first day of school. I thought I was still a first grader, but really I was a big second grader.

This is me on my first day of school. I was really surprised that time came so fast - but, it came fast anyway. I was really excited that I finally got to go to second grade. I can't believe that I'm a second grader!

This is me and Mrs. Nieuwsma sitting on the bleachers with the rest of the school.

These are my teachers, Mrs. Seif, Miss Glover and Mrs. Nieuwsma. At first I wasn't so sure about them, but after a couple of days, I realized they were the nicest teachers in the world.

This is the craziest class in the world. The kids are nice. Some are pretty silly. And some, well, are pretty serious - but they're all my friends anyway.

My favorite subject in school is Gym. I really want to get a work out when I'm there. I realize that most of the time I'm just playing soccer. I really like soccer. Soccer is a really nice game. I wish I actually had a team to play with. The thing I want the most is that I get my very own soccer ball.

Another fun thing is getting buddies. Buddies are Kindergarteners that we have to watch over. My buddy's name is Julia. She's the biggest monkey in the world. Every pole she sees, she's always up it! You should see how fast she climbs! Did I already explain that she's a big monkey? Whenever she sees me, she runs up and gives me the biggest hug in the world. She has blonde hair, and is really nice.

So far, second grade is pretty awesome. I only get a little homework each night. I'm not sure how much I'm going to get in the middle of the year. But, I don't care so much about that. I just care that I learn things!

Next time I'll write about me and my little sister, Bella. It'll be an awesome time if you read it!

Welcome Back!

Ok, so it's been a year (to the day, mind you) since Faith has posted on this blog. To say the least, I (Faith's Mom) haven't been very good at helping her keep it up.

However, now that Faith is in second grade, she can read and write, and type (probably better than I can).

At school, for just a little while, we're going to be learning about plants. It's kind of fun. We're making books and all that kind of stuff. There's a paper in the book about how seeds travel, what you're favorite flower or plant is and there's a page about what your favorite tree is. We put our books together today.

And guess, what? I even planted a lima bean! Wow . . . it grew really fast. First what I saw was roots. And then, I saw a little tiny green thing poking up. It was the starting of a plant. It was really cool to watch it grow. It was fun to come one day and see the stem, and the next day see leaves. School is really fun.

Wednesday, September 24

(I like to go to school a lot. My teacher says not to be bullies on the playground.)

It's fun to go to school. I like it a lot. It's really fun to have Gym, Art and Spanish. Oh, and Music too! I like it when it's indoor recess and I like it when it's outdoor recess. I don't care what kind of recess it is. It's just fun to have fun.

Today at recess we played:

I see a color and the color is red.

It's a game where you take a jump rope and there's a few people. What you do is take both sides of the jump rope in your hand and swing it around your head, and say the rhyme. And then you let go of one end of the rope and the girls around you jump over it. Whoever gets wacked in the leg first by the jump rope has to take a turn with the jump rope doing the rhyme. Then the other girls around her jump. I like to do it too.

Today I also had Music and Gym. And it was fun. That's my day.

A Few of my Favorite Things

I like to ride miye toweyir bike and I lik to goe to the kodije and swim.
(I like to ride my two-wheeler bike and I like to go to the cottage and swim.)

I like to go to school. My teacher's name is Miss De Weerd and she is very fun. She makes up games for me and they are very fun. I like to play games.

I love my Mom and my Dad and Bella too - and also Grandma.

I like to eat new things. Sometimes I don't like them, and sometimes I do. I LOVE ice cream! I also like to go to the fair and eat cotton candy and elephant ears. I like them a lot. They taste really sweet in my mouth. Just the taste is delicious. It's really fun to eat them too!

Did you know that my Aunt Shelly lives in Washington - and my Uncle Kent? I wait until Thanksgiving time! They'll visit then!

Wow! I guess I like LOTS of things.

Thaif's Thoughts - A Little Girl's Blog

Hey everyone!

Faith has been so interested in reading and writing lately, I thought it would be fun for her to have her own blog - a place for her to put her thoughts into words. Lately, she had been talking about how she wants to be an author when she grows up. I thought giving her her own blog site would help her in her journey to author-hood!

The blog is called Thaif's Thoughts, because Faith's little sister calls her THAIF. Bella has called Faith Thaif since the first day she said her name. Although she CAN say Faith, she still says Thaif by default.

Anyway, welcome to Faith's special spot. I hope this becomes a place where her love for reading and writing can be explored and expanded!
